Job Location:
Greater Boston Area, MA (Cambridge and Waltham, MA) U.S.A

Job Description:
An internship with Melodic Vision is an excellent opportunity for a student with multifaceted interest in the arts.  Working as a photographer’s assistant, musician’s assistant, office assistant, website manager, and online researcher—alternately participating in photo shoots, booking shows, updating websites, marketing, fundraising, and doing standard administrative functions like filing, faxing, xeroxing, data entry, and answering phones—means there’s never a dull moment. You’ll gain experience with computer programs such as Adobe Photoshop, File Maker Pro, iWeb and Constant Contact. Perks are attending performances of Melodic Vision’s creative team and going to photo seminars organized by Susan Wilson for the New England School of Photography.

A word from Melodic Vision’s Super Intern, Summer 2008:

“As a photography student, I was looking forward to the opportunity to gain more experience in the realm of photography, as well as be introduced to media programs and the fundamentals of event planning. Working for Melodic Vision as my summer internship essentially gave the perfect balance, and I was entertained with a variety of work and activities. Susan and Rebecca provided a relaxed work environment, and being here in the summer gave me the chance to truly enjoy their “outdoor office”—which includes a table to work on, umbrella to keep from getting too much sun, fan to keep cool, and the perfect backyard view of the Charles River. They both have been outstanding teachers who have allowed me to both use and enhance my creative skills.  I will take with me and benefit from the practical advice and stories they have shared with me.”

A word from Melodic Vision’s Super Intern, Winter 2008:

“Working with Melodic Vision catered to my many interests as a Liberal Arts student and provided me with a varied and valuable skill set.  As a beginning photography student, working with Susan was the opportunity of a lifetime. I learned a tremendous amount about having your own business, from the basics of studio strobe lighting to the ins and outs of copyright laws. On days when I worked with Rebecca I had the opportunity to explore my creative side and boost my communication skills. Susan and Rebecca know both how to have fun on the job and when it’s important to get down to business.”
