Melodic Vision joins Boston Music Award-winning Latin band, Sol y Canto, to illuminate one of Mexico's favorite holidays, Day of the Dead. Celebrated early in November, Day of the Dead is both a heartfelt homage to ancestors and a lighthearted, community- centered excuse for family gatherings, creative crafts, food, floral arrangements, dance, pageantry—  and poking fun at the grim reaper! The stunning finale is a moving, night-long, candlelit vigil at the local cemetery, filled with friends, family, and—if all goes wellfriendly spirits from beyond.

The heart of Sol y Canto's music is its rich vocal harmonies, sumptuous Spanish guitar and a combination of beautiful ballads and churning Latin rhythms, each performed with unparalleled depth and enthusiasm. Melded with the rich sound of bowed string instruments, new original songs by Brian Amador, compelling storytelling, and stunning imagery provided by Melodic Vision's creative team, the Days and Nights of the Dead come alive, bringing the spirit home with melody, photography, and soul.

“I have to tell you the show was incredible! As a Mexican I have to say that Rosi’s voice and Susan’s photographs really transported me back to my childhood when I used to help my grandmother prepare everything for Dia de Muertos."

“What a fabulous evening of music, poetry and photography.  Sol y Canto’s music was exquisite, Susan's images delicious, and Rebecca’s violin most evocative.  This was an unexpected evening of fabulous treats for the senses and a most original act (art?)”
